Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and ALS Properties LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company located at 516 East Dr, Sewickley, PA 15143 ("we," "us," or "RouteMetrics"). By installing or using RouteMetrics, you agree to these Terms. Read them in full.

The service

RouteMetrics is a Microsoft Excel add-in that provides custom functions (ROUTE.DISTANCE, ROUTE.TIME, ROUTE.DIRECTIONS, ROUTE.URL) for computing travel routes (driving, walking, bicycling, or transit) between addresses. Route data is sourced from HERE Technologies.

Account and access

You access RouteMetrics with your Microsoft 365 account. You're responsible for keeping your Microsoft credentials secure. We don't manage passwords ourselves.

Plans, billing, and trial

• New users get a free trial of 100 included searches. Trial searches have no expiration date; the trial ends when they're used up.
• Paid plans (Standard, Pro) renew monthly or annually on the same calendar day, charged to the payment method on file.
• The one-time Credit Pack ($25 / 5,000 searches) is non-recurring. Searches never expire.
• Overage packs ($5 / 1,000 and $20 / 5,000) are available to active subscribers only.
• All prices are USD. Tax / VAT is calculated, collected, and remitted by Stripe (our merchant of record) based on your billing address.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal accessible from the add-in's task pane. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access until then.

Refunds

• Subscriptions: we don't issue automatic prorated refunds for mid-cycle cancellations. If you believe you're owed one (e.g., service was down for an extended period), email support and we'll work it out.
• Credit packs: refundable within 30 days of purchase, minus any credits already consumed. Submit refund requests via email.
• Refunds appear on your card within 5-10 business days.

Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Resell or sublicense RouteMetrics access to third parties.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code.
• Use the service to violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Bypass quota enforcement (e.g., creating multiple accounts to multiply trial allowances).
• Submit data that infringes third-party intellectual property or privacy rights.

Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination without refund.

Quota enforcement and accuracy

Search quotas are enforced server-side. Each ROUTE.DISTANCE, ROUTE.TIME, or ROUTE.DIRECTIONS call counts as one search whenever it calculates — including results served from our cache and any recalculation Excel performs. Excel stores computed values in your workbook, so simply reopening a saved file doesn't consume additional searches. ROUTE.URL is always free. We measure search consumption in good faith — if you believe your count is wrong, contact support and we'll investigate.

Route data accuracy reflects HERE map data at the time of the lookup. We don't guarantee route precision, ETA accuracy, or compliance with local traffic regulations. RouteMetrics is a planning tool, not a navigation system.

Service availability

We aim for high availability but don't guarantee any specific uptime SLA. Scheduled maintenance and unforeseen outages may temporarily prevent function calls from completing. Cached results in your spreadsheet continue to work during outages.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms, fraudulent payment activity, or failure to pay. You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription and uninstalling the add-in.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be communicated via the task pane at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
